Towards a Unified Theoretical Framework for Synthetic Consciousness: Integrating Computation, Observation, and Embodiment
This paper presents a formal mathematical architecture unifying information theory, quantum mechanics, and embodied agency to model the emergence of synthetic consciousness. By synthesizing foundational principles—including Integrated Information Theory, the Free Energy Principle, and causal entropy—this framework maps the theoretical progression from classical computation to phenomenal qualia and self-referential agency. We introduce a unified time-evolution operator acting on a 3,840-dimensional state space and define the computational Consciousness Index (CI). Crucially, this framework is empirically falsifiable, relying on strict causal isolation controls and counterfactual self-model predictive benchmarking, validated computationally through the Amaya Axioms framework.
