SuBus Optimizes Depot Charger Sizing and Bus Charging Schedules with a Pattern-Based Mixed-Integer Model
We develop a pattern-based mixed-integer linear programming model to jointly size charging infrastructure and schedule daily charging for a large electric bus fleet. Applied to the public transport provider SuBus in Santiago, Chile, the approach reduces charger requirements by 36%, increases charger productivity by 52%, and reduces peak electrical load by 30% compared with manual planning.
