Searching for Peace in Israel

The turn to violence and the use of force cannot bring about a lasting peace between Israelis and Palestinians. Repeated cycles of war have failed to produce durable political outcomes, whereas strategies of conflict management have brought about mistrust and insecurity. Hence, a better and sustainable future requires a return to diplomatic efforts, including mutual recognition and a negotiated two-state framework that should evolve into a confederation blueprint, embedded within broader regional cooperation.

Abstract

The turn to violence and the use of force cannot bring about a lasting peace between Israelis and Palestinians. Repeated cycles of war have failed to produce durable political outcomes, whereas strategies of conflict management have brought about mistrust and insecurity. Hence, a better and sustainable future requires a return to diplomatic efforts, including mutual recognition and a negotiated two-state framework that should evolve into a confederation blueprint, embedded within broader regional cooperation.
