Research Progress on V 2 CT x MXene‐Based Composites: Synthetic Strategies, Structure Design, and Multifunctional Applications

ABSTRACT V 2 CT x MXene, as an emerging member of two‐dimensional transition metal carbide/nitride family, has garnered significant attention for its exceptional electrochemical performance and tunable structural architecture, particularly in energy storage and conversion. This systematic overview elucidates the fundamental structure–property relationships of V 2 CT x MXene, highlighting its superior charge‐transfer kinetics, metallic conductivity, and cycling stability. A critical examination of state‐of‐the‐art synthesis methods is provided, along with a detailed discussion and analysis of their impacts on material properties. Moreover, advanced structural engineering approaches are highlighted, encompassing layered structure with enlarged interlayer spacing, surface functionalization, morphological tailoring, and hybrid composite construction. Meanwhile, this review systematically reveals the correlation between heterogeneous interfaces and the electronic, physical, and electrochemical properties of materials from the unique perspective of structural design strategies. Furthermore, the application prospects of V 2 CT x ‐based composites are comprehensively evaluated across electrochemical energy storage and conversion, as well as photocatalytic degradation of organic pollutants. Crucially, the underlying mechanisms governing charge storage processes and catalytic reaction pathways are elucidated. Finally, current challenges and future research directions are proposed, underscoring the broad potential and pivotal role of V 2 CT x ‐based composites across multiple domains.
