Restorative Environments, Destination Emotions, and Subjective Well-Being in Wellness Tourism at the Pinglu Canal: A Multi-Source Mixed-Methods Study of Tourist Segmentation and Behavioral Intention
Taking the areas along the Pinglu Canal as the research case, this paper explores the mechanisms of tourists’ destination emotion, tourism subjective well-being and revisit intention. Based on 502 online questionnaires, structural equation modeling is used to examine the relationships among restorative environmental perception, destination emotion, tourism subjective well-being and revisit intention, and the K-means clustering algorithm is used to identify heterogeneous tourist groups. Meanwhile, LDA topic analysis is performed on 210 UGC texts to gain information about tourists’ activity preferences and information demands. The results reveal that restorative environmental perception significantly improves destination emotion, tourism subjective well-being and revisit intention. Destination emotion exerts a positive effect on tourism subjective well-being and revisit intention, while tourism subjective well-being further promotes revisit intention. Both destination emotion and tourism subjective well-being play mediating roles in this framework. Tourists can be classified into four categories with significant differences in psychological perception and behavioral tendencies. UGC analysis demonstrates that coastal leisure vacation and ecological mountain experience are the primary themes of tourist concern. This study provides references for the optimization of health tourism products, segmented marketing and sustainable development along the Pinglu Canal.
