Design and Functional Evaluation of UniCORE: An Integrated Academic Digital Platform for the University of Somalia
This paper presents the design and functional evaluation of UniCORE, an integrated web-based academic platform developed for the University of Somalia (UNISO), Mogadishu, Somalia. The platform brings together an E-Library with digital watermarking and AI-assisted summarization, seat reservations with QR verification, posts and messaging, class meetings, and online examinations. Its examination module supports programming assessment through a Docker-based Code Runner and graphics or design assessment through a design-oriented workflow. The paper describes the system architecture, modules, technologies, and qualitative functional status. It also documents an unresolved issue involving intermittent class-meeting failures. No user study, usability evaluation, security assessment, load test, or learning-outcome evaluation is claimed.
