Presentation slides used during the workshop “After the Bike Bus: next steps for independent mobility”, held at the Bike Bus Summit 2026 on 29 April 2026 at FCUL – Faculty of Sciences, Lisbon, Portugal. The slides cover the conceptual framing of children’s independent mobility, the critical 9–12 age window, and the ComBina pilot project — a structured mentorship programme developed in Lisbon to support children’s transition to independent bicycle commuting to school.
