Hoja en Blanco | A New Leaf: using participatory mosaic video to explore experiences of moving to a new country

We explore the individual stories and everyday experiences of four migrants from Latin America. We present primary research using an innovative method called participatory mosaic video, which was designed for this project. Participatory mosaic video combines methodological elements of three existing qualitative methods: verbatim theatre, the mosaic method and participatory visual methods. We use participatory mosaic video to explore acculturative experience and place-making with four participants. We present primary research in the form of a voiceover script for a video entitled Hoja en Blanco| A New Leaf, based on verbatim interview transcripts. Following thematic analysis, we present themes arising from the transcripts, the advantages of using participatory mosaic video for exploring experiences of migration, and then consider potential benefits of this approach for psychological research into other topics.
