Numerical Study of Magnetohydrodynamic Bioconvective Flow over a Curved Surface with Radiation and Thermal Solutal Effects

This study investigates the influence of chemical species on magnetized bioconvection flow of a viscous nanofluid over a stretching curved surface. The analysis incorporates the effects of Brownian motion, Thermophoresis, Thermal radiation, and internal heat generation/absorption. Convective thermal and solutal boundary conditions are imposed to examine heat and mass transport characteristics. Appropriate similarity transformations are employed to convert the governing partial differential equations into a system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations, which are then solved numerically using the BVP4C scheme. The results indicate that an increase in the magnetic field parameter significantly suppresses the velocity gradient due to the Lorentz force. Moreover, simultaneous enhancement of thermal radiation and Brownian motion parameters leads to a pronounced rise in the temperature distribution. The concentration gradient is found to increase with higher values of the solutal Biot number and Brownian motion parameter. Additionally, the local density number, Nusselt number, and Sherwood number are computed and analyzed. A comparative assessment with previously published results in limiting cases is presented, demonstrating excellent agreement and validating the accuracy of the numerical methodology. This study presents a novel unified numerical framework that simultaneously incorporates bioconvection, magnetohydrodynamics, thermal radiation, and thermo-solutal effects over a curved surface, addressing the lack of comprehensive analyses of these coupled phenomena in existing literature. The findings provide new insights into the interaction between curvature, magnetic fields, heat transfer, mass transfer, and microorganism dynamics. The proposed model has potential applications in biomedical engineering, bio-reactors, solar thermal systems, microfluidic devices, and advanced heat and mass transfer technologies.
