Draft genome sequences of five Escherichia coli strains with human pathogenic attributes from animal reservoirs in the United States
ABSTRACT Both humans and animals harbor commensal Escherichia coli or potentially pathogenic and drug-resistant strains that can cause severe infections. Here, we report draft genomes of five multidrug-resistant E. coli isolates from raccoon, mouse, and cattle in the USA, revealing antimicrobial resistance, virulence-associated genes, and plasmid-associated determinants relevant to One Health.
