Energy Dependence and Comparative Analysis of D–T and D–D Fusion Cross Sections
This work presents a comparative analysis of the energy dependence of deuterium–tritium (D–T) and deuterium–deuterium (D–D) fusion cross sections using published experimental data. The D–T cross-section measurements are compared with the Bosch–Hale parameterization, and the relative magnitudes of the D–T and D–D cross sections are examined over a selected center-of-mass energy range. The analysis includes data processing, cross-section comparisons, residual analysis, and an assessment of the sensitivity of the results to data selection. The study aims to provide a reproducible comparison of fusion cross-section behavior across the investigated energy range. The results should be interpreted in light of the source data, data-selection procedure, and limitations of the uncertainty analysis. The accompanying research repository provides analysis materials and supporting resources where available.
