Cover Feature: Photoredox/Pyridine N ‐Oxide Catalyzed Acyl Radical Generation From Aldehydes for Divergent Synthesis of Pyrroles and Carbocyclic Ketones (Adv. Synth. Catal. 20/2026)
Hydrogen-Atom Transfer Under blue light, photoredox catalysis and pyridine N-oxide-mediated hydrogen-atom transfer convert readily available aldehydes into acyl radicals. Addition of these radicals to alkynes opens three aldehyde-dependent pathways to densely functionalized pyrroles, cyclopentanones, or indanones. The cover illustrates this divergent catalytic platform, which transforms simple feedstocks into valuable heterocyclic and carbocyclic molecular scaffolds.
