Zero Without Stasis: Organisational Emergence in an Exactly Reversible Signed-Charge-Conserving Block Cellular Automaton
We found a simple artificial world in which random material reorganises into large, irregular regions, some rich in material and some nearly empty, while the net signed charge stays exactly zero and every microscopic step can be undone. The result shows how substantial organisation can develop without breaking the global balance or discarding microscopic information; in this model, the timing of that organisation depends strongly on initial occupancy and its form depends on the local reactions.
