Achieving White Electroluminescence from a Single‐Component Emitter by Harnessing Aggregation‐Induced Dual Delayed Fluorescence

ABSTRACT Aggregation‐induced white emission (AIWE) organic light‐emitting diodes (OLEDs) represent a compelling platform for next‐generation display and lighting technologies, as they circumvent both the electroluminescence (EL) spectral instability and the fabrication complexity inherent in multi‐emitter architectures. Herein, we report a novel strategy for achieving spectrally stable white EL based on an AIWE system, in which white‐light generation does not rely on conventional unimolecular emission but instead arises from aggregation‐induced white emission in a single‐component thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) emitter. The designed molecule, 2tCz‐2tBO, comprises a planar donor (D) and two multi‐resonance acceptors (A), which are connected via spirofluorene linkers to form a near‐parallel A–D–A configuration. This geometry enforces steric separation between the donor and acceptor units, thereby facilitating efficient multiple through‐space charge transfer (TSCT). A pivotal characteristic of this material is its capacity for simultaneous blue and yellow emission in the aggregated state. The optimized white OLED incorporating 2tCz‐2tBO achieves a maximum external quantum efficiency of 8.4%. Furthermore, the device exhibits spectral stability, maintaining consistent white light emission across a range of operating voltages. This work establishes a new paradigm for AIWE systems by employing a dual‐emissive TSCT‐TADF material, providing an effective strategy toward high‐performance and spectrally stable white electroluminescence.
