Autologous Platelet-Rich Plasma for Endometrial and Ovarian Dysfunction: Mechanistic Insights and Clinical Outcomes

Although assisted reproductive technology (ART) has been widely applied worldwide, thin endometrium (TE), diminished ovarian reserve (DOR), and other conditions remain the core bottlenecks of refractory infertility, and existing therapies fail to effectively preserve tissue and prevent functional damage. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP), as an autologous regenerative agent, has demonstrated promising application potential in reproductive medicine due to its multi-targeted regulatory capacity. Therefore, this review is intended as a narrative overview that aims to systematically elucidate the possible mechanisms by which PRP improves the endometrial microenvironment and ovarian function, integrate the latest clinical evidence to evaluate its therapeutic efficacy, analyze translational challenges such as the lack of standardization, and provide an evidence-based basis for its standardized clinical application.
