The Clockwork Void: Reframing Electrodynamics and Special Relativity Through a Mechanistic Reference Frame
Modern physics education frequently presents electromagnetic fields and relativistic phenomena through heavy mathematical abstractions that detach practitioners from physical intuition. This paper proposes a unified pedagogical and conceptual framework that reframes electrodynamics, special relativity, and statistical thermodynamics through mechanical engineering principles. By treating the physical vacuum not as an empty, magical void but as a reactive, equilibrium-seeking medium, we demonstrate that: Lenz’s law acts as the direct electromagnetic analog to Newtonian structural inertia; magnetic fields are not separate physical entities but geometric projections of relativistically compressed electrostatic fields, analogous to reference-frame transformations in computer-aided design (CAD); and thermodynamic radiation serves as a systemic exhaust valve maintaining micro-structural equilibrium.
