Multi‐Color Chiral Aggregation‐Induced Emission Luminogens Toward Multiple Stimuli‐Responsive Circularly Polarized Luminescence and Information Encryption

ABSTRACT Circularly polarized luminescent (CPL) materials have emerged as promising functional materials for chiral photonics, enantiomer sensing, and information encryption. To fulfill their real applications, integrating high solid‐state emission efficiency, feasible emission color modulation, and multiple stimuli‐responsive potential in a single molecular system is urgently in demanding. Herein, we establish a modular synthetic approach toward chiral macrocyclic aggregation‐induced emission fluorogens (AIEgens) with precisely tailored helicity and structures, whereas their emission colors can be feasibly modulated from blue to deep‐red via donor‐acceptor engineering. These chiral AIEgens displayed mirror‐imaged CPL signals in solution and as nano‐aggregates. The dissymmetry factors for these chiral materials are amplified to the order of 10 −2 in liquid crystals, parallel with CD and CPL signal inversion for electron‐withdrawing group‐substituted AIEgens. The dicyanovinyl group‐functionalized deep‐red emitting chiral AIEgens R/SBT‐CN further exhibit intriguing multiple stimuli‐responsive CPL toward hydrazine, amino acids, incubation time, and UV irradiation, whereas dynamic control over their emission colors and chiroptical signals is realized. Accordingly, we develop an information encryption and decryption systems operating across multiple dimensions of chemical, temporal, light, and CPL levels. This work has paved a robust molecular platform for the development toward bright chiral emitting materials and smart chiral optoelectronic devices.
