Stop Searching for Dark Matter, Save Your Money, You Will Never Find It: The Galactic Disk Model - Mechanism of Mass and Central Gravity Increase with Distance
This study presents a new physical mechanism to explain the flatness of galactic rotation curves without invoking dark matter. The Newtonian orbital velocity equation V = sqrt(GM/r) succeeds brilliantly in the solar system because the interplanetary space is a true vacuum. In galactic systems, however, the space between a star and the galactic disk is not empty, but filled with baryonic matter, gas, dust and plasma. The gravity of this filled medium adds incrementally to the disk's gravity. Two new effective factors are introduced: 1. Variable Enclosed Mass Menc(r) which grows with distance. 2. The Radius of the Cylindrical Galactic Disk R0 which determines how much of the disk width 2R0 the star sees. At R1, the star encloses only a small part of the galaxy mass and sees only a small part of the disk width. At Rmax, it encloses the total mass and shows the full disk width. This mechanism of mass and central gravity increase with distance explains rotation curves. We conclude: Stop Searching for Dark Matter, Save Your Money, You Will Never Find It.
