Numerical Simulation Study on Structure Optimization of a New Swirl Stable Combustion Low Nitrogen Burner Based on Computational Fluid Dynamics

Abstract In order to optimize the structure of the new swirl stable combustion low-nitrogen burner to reduce NOx emissions, this paper uses Fluent software to conduct numerical simulation research on the new swirl stable combustion low-nitrogen burner based on the computational fluid dynamics method. The effects of different swirl blade angles and different primary and secondary air ratios on the temperature field, velocity field and NOx concentration field during combustion are simulated. The results show that when the swirl blade angle is 40°, the burner performance is optimal. At this time, the average NOx mass fraction is as low as 24 ppm, the temperature peak is about 1800 K, the velocity distribution is uniform, and the flame anchoring effect is good; when the primary and secondary air ratio is 2:1, the average NOx mass fraction is also 24 ppm, there are few local high-temperature areas, the combustion is stable, and the thermal NOx generation can be effectively suppressed. The study shows that the swirl blade angle of 40° and the primary and secondary air ratio of 2:1 are the optimal parameter combination of the burner, which can achieve a balance between combustion efficiency and environmental protection performance, and provide a reference for the structural optimization of low-nitrogen burners.
