BRISA Project Poster
Innovation for Safer Industrial Workplaces Discover BRISA (Breakthrough Research on Industrial Safety Against Airborne Carcinogens and Emerging Pollutants), a Horizon Europe-funded research and innovation project working to improve industrial air quality, reduce workers' exposure to hazardous airborne substances and promote safer, cleaner and more sustainable workplaces. This poster provides a visual overview of BRISA's objectives, key activities, industrial pilot sectors and expected impact. It highlights how the project combines five complementary approaches to industrial safety: Safer materials: Developing alternatives to hazardous substances and cleaner industrial processes. Smart monitoring: Improving the detection and monitoring of airborne pollutants. AI-supported forecasting: Using predictive technologies to anticipate and manage exposure risks. Worker protection: Supporting safer working conditions through practical protection measures. Industrial validation: Testing and demonstrating solutions in real-world industrial environments. Bringing together 17 partners from 8 countries over 48 months, BRISA will validate its solutions across five industrial pilots covering ceramics, foundry, end-of-life tyre recycling, mineral fillers and masterbatch production, and plastics recycling. The poster also presents BRISA's expected contribution to reducing hazardous substances and occupational exposure, protecting more than 45,000 workers by 2035, and improving industrial resource efficiency and compliance costs.
