The global synchronization gap: Socio-technical alignment in industry 4.0

This study investigates stakeholder perceptions of Industry 4.0’s transformative impacts on educational systems and entrepreneurial ecosystems. Addressing the alignment gap between exponential technological change and human capital development, we analyze survey data from a purposive cross-sectoral sample of professionals across academia, industry, and the public sector ( n = 99). Findings show strong consensus on the need for digital training for educators and students (M = 9.20), alongside a significant positive relationship between digital readiness and ecosystem innovation (r = 0.58, p < 0.001). However, measured anxiety persists regarding workforce displacement by automation. Perceptions remain uniform across demographic categories, reflecting a shared cross-cohort awareness of transition challenges. We introduce an empirically validated socio-technical synchronization framework that bridges Education 4.0 inputs with entrepreneurial ecosystem outcomes, offering actionable baseline indicators for policymakers seeking to align educational strategy with technological disruption.
