Sequential Catalysis Enables C 2 ‐Preferential Functionalization of Quinone Imine Ketal With α ‐Amino Ynones
A sequential AuCl/CuCl/CPA catalytic system was developed for the C 2 ‐preferential coupling of QIK 2a with pyrrolone nucleophiles generated in situ from α ‐amino ynones. This protocol combines Au‐catalyzed nucleophile formation with CuCl/ rac ‐CPA‐promoted regioselective trapping, affording C 2 ‐addition products in moderate to good yields. Representative C 3 ‐addition products obtained under CPA‐controlled conditions further reveal the tunable regioselectivity of this system. Preliminary asymmetric studies with enantiopure CPAs delivered selected C 2 adducts with up to 82% ee , and scale‐up/derivatization experiments demonstrated the synthetic utility of the products.
