SYNTHESIS METHODS AND STRUCTURAL FEATURES OF THE Mg-MOF-74 METAL-ORGANIC FRAMEWORK
This literature-based study examines the synthesis methods and pore architecture of Mg-MOF-74. Solvothermal, microwave-assisted, and sonochemical approaches to its preparation are described. The roles of the organic linker and magnesium sites in the formation of one-dimensional channels are elucidated. Solvent exchange and activation procedures that render open metal sites accessible are discussed. The principal techniques for assessing framework crystallinity and porosity are identified. Particular attention is given to the need to control phase composition, dehydration conditions, and material stability upon exposure to moisture.
