As a mass communication medium, film has the ability to frame various social issues, including the issue of fatherless. This study aims to analyze the framing of the fatherless issue in the film Andai Ibu Tidak Menikah dengan Ayah using Robert N. Entman's framing analysis model, which consists of define problems, diagnose causes, make moral judgement, and treatment recommendation. This research employs a qualitative approach with a constructivist paradigm. The data were collected through observation of scenes, dialogues, characters' expressions, and visual elements in the film, supported by a literature review. The findings indicate that the film frames the fatherless issue as the absence of a father's role in parenting, protection, economic support, and emotional care for children. This condition is influenced by the father's lack of responsibility, online gambling habits, and neglect of the family, leading to conflicts, economic difficulties, and emotional burdens on the children. The film also emphasizes the importance of a father's presence and involvement in family life. Therefore, the film constructs the fatherless issue as a social condition that significantly affects family life and children's development. Future research is expected to explore the topic of fatherlessness using a variety of communication approaches and to raise awareness of the importance of the father’s role in child development
