Strategi Manajemen Konflik Dalam Meningkatkan Keharmonisan di Pesantren Nurul Hidayah
This study aims to identify and analyze conflict management strategies for fostering harmony at Pesantren Nurul Hidayah. In the life of an Islamic boarding school (pesantren), conflicts can arise from differences in character, interests, perspectives, and needs, including issues regarding the use of shared resources. This study employs a qualitative approach using a descriptive method. Data were collected through observation and interviews with the pesantren caretaker and students who were involved in or aware of the conflicts within the school environment. The collected data were analyzed through processes of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through technique triangulation. The results indicate that conflicts at Pesantren Nurul Hidayah were primarily triggered by limited water availability during the dry season. These conflicts manifested as disputes among students and issues related to the use of shared resources. Contributing factors included resource limitations, conflicting interests, differences in perception and misunderstandings, as well as variations in the students' characters and backgrounds. Conflict resolution efforts involved deliberation, communication and clarification, cooperation in securing alternative water sources, restructuring water usage, and monitoring rule enforcement. These strategies succeeded in reducing tension and establishing more organized water usage, while simultaneously fostering cooperation, mutual concern, communication, and a sense of responsibility among the students. Therefore, the implementation of appropriate conflict management can support the creation of harmonious relationships among students at Pesantren Nurul Hidayah.
