An Empirical Analysis of Components of Economic Growth in India Dr. Sujit Kumar* This study analysis the components of economic growth in India using the annual data for the period after 1980-81 to 2013–2014. This study uses the econometrics technique Semi Log Model have been employed in present study. The descriptive statistics for components of GDP for the period 1981-82 to 2013-14 also indicate maximum variation in terms of S.D. for Trade, Hotels, Transport & Communication Rs. 71241884 lakhs, while minimum variation in terms of S.D. was noted for Mining & Quarrying, noted as Rs. 7114010 lakhs. The results have been found the per annum growth in components of GDP i.e. Agriculture & Allied Activities, Agriculture, Industry, Mining & Quarrying, Manufacturing, Electricity Gas & Water Supply, Services, Construction, Trade Hotels Transport & Communication, Financing Insurance Real Estate & Business Services and Community Social & Personal Services were stood at 10.70 percent, 10.68 percent, 12.69 percent, 12.82 percent, 12.66 percent, 12.76 percent, 14.18 percent, 15 percent, 14.36 percent, 14.37 percent and 13.30 percent respectively for the period 1981-82 to 2013-14. * Assistant Professor, Department of Economics, Kunwar Singh P.G.
