The genome sequence of a ground beetle, Amara ovata Motschulsky, 1844 (Coleoptera: Carabidae)

We present a genome assembly from an individual female Amara ovata (ground beetle; Arthropoda; Insecta; Coleoptera; Carabidae). The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 806.52 megabases and 812.77 megabases. Haplotypes 1 and 2 each contain 16 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the X sex chromosome; these account for 95.54% and 96.53% of their respective sequences. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 16.33 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland.
