USING AERIAL IMAGES FROM AN UNMANNED AERIAL VEHICLE TO CREATE A TERRAIN MAPPING
Modern technologies of Earth remote sensing using unmanned aerial vehicles open up new opportunities for operational and high-precision mapping of the area. The article discusses the practical experience of creating cartographic material based on aerial photographs obtained from an unmanned aerial vehicle. The sequence of work is presented: from flight mission planning and aerial photography to photogrammetric processing of images in specialized software and the formation of the final orthophotoplane. The main stages of data processing are described, including image alignment, dense point cloud construction and digital terrain model creation. The advantages and limitations of using UAVs for mapping purposes are identified, recommendations for effective application of this technology are formulated. The obtained results demonstrate that the use of aerial photographs from UAVs allows creating up-to-date and detailed large-scale maps of the area with high accuracy and in a short time.
