SYNTHESIS OF ORATORY AND STAGE SPEECH IN MASS EVENTS AND THEATRICAL SHOWS
The article examines, from both theoretical and practical perspectives, how oratory and stage speech merge in mass events and theatrical shows. It compares the logical and persuasive nature of oratorical speech with the figurative and performative nature of stage speech. The study argues that the speech of a host, compère or performer in a mass show brings these two fields together. The research draws on scholarly literature from the Uzbek school of oratory, stage speech pedagogy and the direction of mass performances. As a result, a system of speech competencies required of a mass event speaker is proposed.
