Small RNA and transcriptome sequencing of six diverse tissues in Chrysanthemum seticuspe
This dataset provides a comprehensive resource of small RNA (sRNA) and transcriptome (mRNA) sequencing across six diverse vegetative and reproductive tissues of the wild diploid chrysanthemum, Chrysanthemum seticuspe 'Gojo-0'. The plant material was obtained from the Chinese Chrysanthemum Germplasm Resource Conservation Center at Nanjing Agricultural University. Plants were initially cultivated in an artificial climate chamber under long-day conditions. Upon reaching the 14-leaf stage, vegetative tissues were harvested, including the apical 1 cm of the root tip, the shoot apex (shoot apical meristem, SAM), and the 4th leaf. Subsequently, the remaining plants were transferred to short-day conditions to induce flowering. Reproductive tissues were sampled at precise developmental stages: closed buds were collected at a diameter of 5 mm, while pure ovaries (with the seed coat removed) and anthers (with floret stigmas excluded) were carefully isolated from flower buds at the visible petal color-showing stage. All libraries were constructed and sequenced using the BGI high-throughput sequencing platform. This dataset serves as a foundational repository for investigating tissue-specific expression dynamics and sRNA-mediated regulatory networks in Chrysanthemum.
