The genome sequence of the Hairy Greenweed, Genista pilosa L. (Fabales: Fabaceae)
We present a genome assembly of Genista pilosa (Hairy Greenweed; Streptophyta; Magnoliopsida; Fabales; Fabaceae). The assembly consists of two haplotypes with total lengths of 914.40 megabases and 907.01 megabases. Most of the haplotype 1 assembly (94.01%) was scaffolded into 11 chromosomal pseudomolecules. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial genome assembly has a length of 437.09 kilobases and the plastid genome assembly has a length of 152.73 kilobases. Gene annotation of the haplotype 1 assembly by Ensembl identified 37,877 protein-coding genes. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces reference genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland.
