More than an honor society: Discover how Omicron Delta Kappa partners with campuses
The first honor society, Phi Beta Kappa, was founded in 1776 at the College of William and Mary. Since then, honor societies have multiplied and diversified, with many focusing on a specific discipline. “Honor societies play a vital role on a college campus. They are steeped in rich history, deliver distinct value, and help students identify and develop their unique roles in society,” according to Eileen Merberg, Executive Director of Alpha Lambda Delta, the national honor society recognizing first‐year academic success.
