Naevus comedonicus syndrome associated with unilateral thoracic deformity in an adolescent male
Naevus comedonicus (NC) is a rare, benign dermatological disorder characterised by grouped, dilated follicular openings with dark keratin plugs. We report the case of a 14-year-old boy, previously fit and well, who presented to dermatology with textural change of the skin over the left upper chest. The lesion had first been noted in infancy and had slowly extended from the midline to the axilla through adolescence. More recently, the patient noticed progressive, painless deformity of the left rib-cage. There was no relevant medical or family history, and development had been normal.
