Analysis and applicability of production program optimization methods at metallurgical enterprises

In today’s environment of high uncertainty, enterprises in the metallurgical industry are characterized by increased vulnerability to various economic risks due to the complex specifics of their production processes and their high capital and material intensity, which underscores the importance of finding effective methods to adapt their production programs to any changes in the external environment as a condition for ensuring sustainable economic growth of their operations. An assessment has been carried out of the possibilities for the practical application of methodological tools for optimizing production programs, taking into account the specifics of metallurgical enterprises and the current conditions of their operation. To achieve the goal, general scientific theoretical methods were used, which made it possible to generalize and systematize the available scientific material in this area. Based on the analysis, a description is provided of a fairly extensive list of methodological tools developed and used within various methodological approaches to optimizing the production program of an industrial enterprise, in particular, mathematical linear and nonlinear programming, simulation and multi agent modeling, data analysis, and strategic analysis. The key features of the practical application of the considered methods and the effect they achieve are highlighted, which makes it possible to determine the feasibility of their implementation in the context of metallurgical production. The article presents a systematization of methods for optimizing the production program of metallurgical enterprises, which make it possible to find the best option for its design in the short term under given optimality criteria and are of high practical importance for the metallurgical industry in the current situation of environmental uncertainty
