Setting up research on the ship-trawl system

Fishing catamarans are used by fishermen in the coastal zone and in inland waters. Catamarans have proven themselves well for seaweed extraction. Another area of effective operation of such vessels is scientific research with their use at sea latitudes. The advantages of catamarans are high stability and controllability due to two shaft drives and propellers. A promising area for the creation of commercial catamarans is the possibility of designing a platform solution. The use of developments in the automotive industry, where electric motors are used, contributes to the effective implementation of such devices on small fishing vessels. The advantages of using electric motors on catamarans are created by the transition to unmanned industrial fishing, which contributes to the elimination of IUU fishing and trouble-free operation. At the same time, the operator of such vessels must have a basic education in industrial fishing and navigation. The main problem of the propulsion system design is to take into account all the factors that directly affect the aquatic life fishery itself, such as the ship's available thrust, stability, displacement, automation of fishing operations and controllability. The article describes the methodology of modeling the ship-trawl system. Experiments with an in-house models of fishing catamaran and a mid-water trawl made by employees and students were conducted in two experimental pools of the KSTU Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution and the “Fishering Service” flume tank.
