Pengaruh penerapan model pembelajaran mendalam terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis murid di SMA Katolik Theodorus Kotamobagu

This research is anchored in the pressing need for a learning approach able to optimally cultivate students' critical thinking amid twenty-first-century demands, coinciding with Indonesia's gradual rollout of the Deep Learning model starting in the 2025/2026 school year. Three aims guide this study: mapping how the Deep Learning model has been carried out, gauging students' current level of critical thinking, and estimating the extent to which the model shapes students' critical thinking at SMA Katolik Theodorus Kotamobagu. A correlational quantitative design using simple linear regression was applied. Out of a population of 268 students, 160 were selected as the sample through the Slovin formula, with data gathered via a questionnaire that had already passed validity and reliability testing. Findings indicate that both the implementation of the Deep Learning model (90.59) and students' critical thinking ability (90.34) fall into the fairly good category, out of an ideal maximum score of 144. Regression analysis revealed a positive and significant effect, evidenced by a t-value of 6.583 and a significance level of 0.000 (below 0.05), with the equation Y = 46.445 + 0.485X. An R² of 0.215 shows that the Deep Learning model accounts for 21.5% of the variance in students' critical thinking ability. These results lend support for sustaining the implementation of the Deep Learning model at the senior high school level.
