The Impact of Health Literacy on Women’s Nutrition Knowledge Level
This study investigated the relationship between health literacy and nutrition knowledge among women. A descriptive crosssectional design was used. Data were collected using a sociodemographic questionnaire, the Turkish Health Literacy Scale-32 (THLS-32), and the Nutrition Knowledge Level Scale for Adults (NKLSA). Statistical analyses were performed using SPSS software. The mean health literacy score was 36.9 ± 7.55. The mean basic nutrition knowledge score was 50.77 ± 9.57, and the mean food preference score was 30.43 ± 5.79. The findings indicated that levels of health literacy and nutrition knowledge were moderate. Health literacy is associated with nutrition knowledge among women and may play an important role in promotinghealthy dietary behaviours.
