Statistical Analysis of Student Learning Habits and Academic Performance Using the Chi-Square Test of Independence
Abstract: Abstract This study investigates the association between students' learning habits and their academic performance using the Chi-Square Test of Independence. Primary data were collected from 98 students through a structured Google Forms questionnaire. The study examined factors including assignment completion, use of online learning resources, subject understanding, revision frequency, difficulty in understanding subjects, and satisfaction with the learning process. Academic performance was categorized into two groups: below 70% and 70% or above. The Chi-Square test results showed statistically significant associations between academic performance and assignment completion, online resource usage, and subject understanding. However, revision frequency, difficulty in understanding subjects, and satisfaction with the learning process did not show significant associations with academic performance. The findings highlight the importance of consistent assignment completion, effective use of online learning resources, and better subject understanding in students' academic performance.
