Losing My Feet: An Embodied Autoethnographic Sketch of Disembodiment
I adopted an embodied autoethnography in an experimental, evocative, and artistic way to sketch my lived experience of disembodiment during research writing, in which detachment, reduction, estrangement, and pain intertwine with joy and enthusiasm. Here, I researched my researcher-self as both the subject and object of study to make meaning of disembodiment through embodiment. I visually sketched my disembodied self-image as a metamorphosed female academic during research writing, seeking to embody her on canvas.
