Optical and Chiroptical Properties of a Green‐Emitting Tb(III) Complex Embedded in Silica Nanoparticles
A spectroscopic investigation of water‐soluble and chiral Tb(III) complexes with N,N′‐ bis (2‐pyridylmethyl)‐ trans −1,2‐diaminocyclohexane‐N,N′‐diacetic acid, embedded in water‐dispersible 36 nm round‐shaped SiO 2 nanoparticles, has been carried out. This study includes the collection of Tb(III) luminescence and circularly polarized emission spectrum and 5 D 4 luminescence decay curve. This contribution highlights how the incorporation of the Tb‐based complex in an inert and inorganic matrix can positively affect the optical and chiroptical features of the original emitting compound.
