Performance Evaluation of Special Type Double Group Sampling Plan under the Condition of Lifetime Distributions
ABSTRACT The quality of a product fundamentally defines the firm's reputation and reflects the excellence of its manufacturing practices. Inspection is indispensable across all manufacturing domains to ensure that products are dispatched in strict conformity with the stipulated quality benchmarks. The selection of an appropriate sampling plan constitutes a critical component in the execution of quality inspection processes. This study deigns a new attribute reliability acceptance sampling plan termed as special type double group sampling Plan (STDGSP), aimed at augmenting quality inspection processes especially in scenarios involving large‐scale production. The proposed sampling plan yields markedly enhanced results in quality assessment compared to the existing sampling plans in terms of stringent acceptance criteria. Truncated life testing experimentation is conducted with the utilization of Eponential and Weibull distributions to rigorously assess the efficiency and operational performance of the proposed sampling plan. The minimum number of groups essential for executing quality inspection is ascertained through the application of search procedure algorithm. The operating characteristic (OC) and minimum ratio values are correspondingly derived for both distributions and a comparative analysis is executed to substantiate the concluding inferences. Moreover, numerical illustrations are furnished for the proposed plan and its relevance to modern industrial operations is expounded through an empirical demonstration utilizing real time failure data.
