Impact AI Method - External Impact Interview Guide
This external impact interview guide is part of the materials provided for the Impact AI Method, which was developed within the Impact AI project, a transdisciplinary research project at the Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society. The Impact AI Method is designed for a holistic yet practice-oriented impact assessment of running AI use cases. The framework aims to assess the implications a given AI use case has for people, society, and the planet. The external impact interviews are conducted following the organizational interviews, which are also part of the Impact AI Method. The aim of the external impact interviews is to gain a better understanding of intended and unintended effects of the deployment and use of the AI system by external stakeholders. The interviews allow an impact description from a user perspective, which might differ from the AI system developers’ perspective. They complement and validate the findings of the previous interviews with the internal team members. The external impact interviews should be conducted with users of the AI system, or, where relevant, with other affected stakeholders or experts on user experience or impacts of the AI system more generally.
