Pengaruh Kepatuhan Minum Obat Terhadap Penurunan Tekanan Darah Pada Pasien Hipertensi : Literature Review

Abstract Hypertension is a global health challenge with an increasing prevalence, and effective blood pressure control is strongly influenced by patients’ adherence to pharmacological therapy. This study aims to analyze the effect of medication adherence on blood pressure reduction among patients with hypertension through a literature review approach. This study employed a literature review method by examining and synthesizing relevant journal articles, which were subsequently analyzed descriptively and narratively. The review included 10 articles, most of which demonstrated a significant association between medication adherence, as measured using instruments such as the Morisky Medication Adherence Scale-8 (MMAS-8), and blood pressure reduction or achievement of target blood pressure levels, particularly systolic blood pressure. In conclusion, medication adherence was positively associated with blood pressure control among patients with hypertension, although other factors, including age, family support, and lifestyle, may also influence overall treatment outcomes. Keywords: Hypertension, Compliance, Taking Medication, Blood Pressure Abstrak.
