Mazus zhewanensis (Mazaceae): A new species from Eastern China
A new species, M. zhewanensis sp. nov. (Mazaceae), is described from East China. Morphologically, it is similar to M. spicatus but differs in having elliptic cauline leaves with shallowly and densely serrate margins (vs. obovate to obovate-spatulate with incised-serrate margins) and a larger corolla. Phylogenetically, it is recovered as sister to M. caducifer with high support ( ML = 95%, BI = 1 ). A key to the pubescent-fruited species of Mazus in China, including the new species, is also provided.
