THE ROLE OF BUSINESS LEADERSHIP AND INNOVATIVE MARKETING MANAGEMENT IN ADDRESSING MARKET DISRUPTION AND ECONOMIC UNCERTAINTY IN THE MANAGERIAL ECONOMICS OF ISLAMIC BANKING FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
This study examines how business leadership and innovative marketing management can help Islamic banks respond to market disruption and economic uncertainty while supporting sustainable development. The study employs a library research design and qualitative content analysis of peer-reviewed journal articles, institutional publications, and established theoretical works related to Islamic banking, managerial economics, leadership, marketing innovation, digital transformation, Shariah governance, and sustainability. The literature synthesis indicates that the managerial economics of Islamic banking is shaped not only by profitability and efficiency but also by Shariah compliance, risk sharing, real-sector orientation, customer trust, financial inclusion, and social and environmental responsibility. Agile leadership enables Islamic banks to adjust financing priorities, technology investment, risk controls, service processes, and organizational capabilities while maintaining Shariah principles. Innovative marketing management strengthens this response by translating Shariah-based value propositions into customer-centered products, transparent communication, personalized digital services, and long-term relationship strategies. The literature further indicates that digital transformation can improve efficiency, customer experience, and market reach when supported by appropriate governance, employee competence, cybersecurity, responsible data management, and Shariah oversight. Overall, sustainable performance is more likely when leadership, managerial economics, marketing innovation, digital capability, governance, and Maqasid al-Shariah are managed as an integrated strategic system. The study proposes an integrated managerial framework that connects economic efficiency and competitiveness with ethical finance, inclusion, stakeholder trust, and sustainable development.
