Dermoid Cyst Treated by Individualized Homeopathic Medicine: A Case Report
Dermoid cysts are benign developmental anomalies typically managed with surgical excision. Non-invasive therapeutic options are rarely documented. This case report adds to the limited literature by presenting a dermoid cyst treated successfully with individualized homeopathic therapy in a patient who declined surgery. A 52-year-old male presented with a long-standing cystic swelling on the scalp. Clinical examination suggested a dermoid cyst, which was confirmed by non-contrast computed tomography of the brain. Thuja occidentalis was prescribed following a comprehensive assessment of physical and mental generals. The patient showed notable regression in lesion size during follow-up without surgical intervention. Possible causal attributions were evaluated using the Modified Naranjo Criteria for Homoeopathy (MONARCH), yielding a score of +7. This case suggests that individualized homeopathic treatment may offer a non-invasive therapeutic option for benign cystic lesions such as dermoid cysts. Further clinical studies are required to substantiate these findings and define the role of homeopathy in benign tumor management.
