A Fundamental Motor Skills Content Knowledge Test for Pre-Service Classroom Teachers

The purpose of this study is to develop a valid and reliable Fundamental Motor Skills – Content Knowledge test for pre-service classroom teachers. The data was collected from a total of 254 pre-service classroom teachers studying at three public universities. After using Rasch Modeling to evaluate the validity and reliability of the data obtained, the statistical results indicated a good item model fit for both items and persons. Results showed a high internal consistency in terms of item difficulty and personability, and that the test met the required standards for item difficulty and discrimination. The test also demonstrated high item and person reliability indices, reflecting both consistency in item performance, and the capacity of the test to distinguish between different levels of content knowledge. It was concluded from the findings that the test is an effective tool that can be confidently utilized in both research and teacher education.
