Guidelines for Preparing and Conducting Feedback Discussions With Students
ABSTRACT Teachers who want to collect student feedback on their teaching for the purposes of teaching improvement may wish to ask their students to give feedback through a feedback discussion. The article first discusses the promises and pitfalls of the feedback discussion in gaining effective feedback, contrasting it with the Student Evaluation of Teaching and discussions facilitated by an outsider. The article then presents some concrete guidelines on what to consider when preparing and conducting feedback discussions with students.
