The Dynamics of Theorizing the Qur’anic Human Rights Discourse: An Analysis of the Theoretical Foundations and Conceptual Framework of Achmad Abubakar’s Thought
This study aims to analyze the dynamics of the theorization of the Quranic human rights discourse in the work of "Achmad Abubakar", "Indonesian Islamic studies academic", particularly regarding the theoretical basis, conceptual framework, and its relevance to the development of contemporary Islamic human rights studies. This study uses a qualitative method with a library research approach through a descriptive-critical analysis of the works of Achmad Abubakar and supporting literature related to human rights, interpretation, and maqasid al-syari’ah. The results of the study indicate that the theorization of Quranic human rights in Achmad Abubakar’s thoughts is built on three main foundations, namely maqasid al-syari’ah, humanistic interpretation, and the universal principles of humanity in the Quran. His conceptual framework emphasizes the principles of karimah al-insan, justice, freedom, and equality as the normative basis for human rights protection in Islam. This thinking demonstrates an integrative effort to reconcile the universality of modern human rights with Qur’anic values through a contextual and multidisciplinary approach. Furthermore, this study finds that Achmad Abubakar’s approach has made a significant contribution to expanding the socio-humanistic interpretation paradigm in Indonesia.
