A professional code of ethics is a crucial foundation for the delivery of high-quality Guidance and Counseling services. The application of the code of ethics is not only related to the delivery of services by guidance and counseling teachers but also encompasses aspects that support the fulfillment of students’ needs. This study aims to describe the application of the five aspects of the ABKIN code of ethics that are the focus of this research and to identify barriers to collaboration with relevant parties and colleagues. The study employed a descriptive quantitative method supplemented by qualitative data from interviews with guidance and counseling teachers and a literature review. The study subjects included 26 students from Class IX-3 at UPT SMP Negeri 2 Percut Sei Tuan and one guidance and counseling teacher as an informant. The data collection instrument consisted of a closed-ended questionnaire with 25 statements divided into five aspects of the ABKIN Code of Ethics: the professional code of ethics and integrity of guidance counselors; counseling services and student support; collaboration with relevant parties and peers; the conduct of assessments and the use of data; and digital ethics and the use of technology. Measurements were taken using a 1–4 Likert scale and analyzed using descriptive statistics to calculate the mean score for each aspect. The research results show that students’ perceptions of the implementation of the ABKIN code of ethics, based on five aspects, fall into the “high” category with an average score of 3.26. The aspect of professional ethics and integrity among guidance counselors received the highest score of 3.41, while the aspect of cooperation with relevant parties and colleagues received the lowest score of 3.05. The interview results reinforce the findings regarding barriers to parental involvement. The study concludes that the five aspects of the code of ethics have been implemented, but cooperation faces obstacles. Recommendations focus on strengthening communication and collaboration among schools, guidance and counseling teachers, and parents.
